What can u do at batu caves??

http://thestar.com.my/lifestyle/story.asp?file=/2008/7/12/lifetravel/1335951&sec=lifetravel

If u drive along the mrr2 from kepong to gombak from far u can see a limestone hill infront of u. Its was a Batu Caves. All already known what have in Batu Caves that their steps to the caves, Indian temple with a giant statue and every year the largest Thaipusam festival in Malaysia was held here.

But if you are a outdoor lovers specially for climbers, Batu Caves was a heaven a greatest place to have a rock climbing experience. Situated at Kg Melayu Wira Damai, Nyamuk climbing sites was setup by largest climbing gym in Asia, Camp5 run an outdoor climb every 3rd sunday every month. There are more than 60 climbing routes in Nyamuk, ranging from beginner-friendly 5B to expert-level 8A — the hardest route found in West Malaysia. This is based on the French grading system, which starts at 4 (beginner’s level) to 9B+, currently the world’s most difficult routes, located in Spain and Mexico.

The outdoor climb is an extension of Camp5 and gives our members an opportunity to enjoy the natural climbing sites in KL. The techniques differ. For indoor walls, the holds stick out from the wall. On an outdoor rock face, it’s the opposite — the crack or ledge goes into the wall. You can easily tell if a person is an indoor or outdoor climber from his climbing style.

Outdoor climbing at Malaysia is still news and Malaysia still have few climbers. But from the supporting from foreigner climber that give an opprtunity to some company get an advantage to makes a profits. As we can see outdoor activity nowadays become famous activity among youth even its growth slowly. But its was a positive action and government should support more in this field. Its also can prevent the social problem among youth and to have a active and energetic youth for a future.
